The History of The Denison Hotel
For many reasons surrounding the the significance of the Railway history and illustrating the importance of Rockhampton’s major role in railway administration for the Central and North Coast railways in the late 19th and early 20th century, the building was declared a heritage-listed building by the Queensland Heritage Register in 2005.
In 2010, The Denison Hotel was introduced and has kept the history of this building alive through the elegant designs and fabrications. While keeping up with modern times, The Denison Hotel is complimented by its guests for the historic and aromatic feel on their visit.
Great hotel in a convenient location
My partner and I stayed in this hotel for several days. It had a nice room with a spa bath and was in a convenient location.
Classic restoration and comfort
This hotel was part of the QR years ago. It was used to train shutters amongst other things. It has been lovingly restored and includes indulgences such as huge space bath and four poster beds. Period furniture gives an authentic old world feel and experience. Staff were very helpful when assisting my wife with her requirements for gluten free food.
Absolute gem for staying in Rockhampton
Sensational stay. This place brings plenty of charm with the very high ceilings and old style décor. Not far from the CBD and the staff are friendly. I have rebooked this hotel for the trip home.
